Birdstep Technology Inc. Raima Division (OSE: BIRD), which offers state-of-the-art embedded database technologies, today announced that they will be showing a demonstration of their dataflow and high availability solutions at this weeks Embedded Systems Conference in Boston.
?This demonstration highlights some of the key features introduced this year in both the RDM Embedded and RDM Server products? said Duncan Bates, Vice President of Product Management. ?We wanted to show through a real-world demonstration, with actual hardware and not virtual machines, how the Raima products can facilitate the flow of transactional safe data from embedded devices up to the enterprise.?
The demonstration illustrates how a building maintenance firm can monitor the power consumption of multiple properties. It consists of three individual single board computers including VersaLogic?s Manx single board computer running Windows XP and RDM Embedded 9.1. The other two single board computers are running RDM Embedded 9.1, one is hosting the GreenHills Integrity operating system and the other is running the Wind Rivers VxWorks operating system. The single board computers simulate the collection of power consumption which is stored in the RDM Embedded database residing on each device. The data is then simultaneously replicated to a netbook computer running Windows XP and an instance of RDM Server 8.2 where it is aggregated into the sum total of all the power consumption of all the properties. The data is then replicated to an instance of Microsoft?s SQL Server, via a RDM Server transaction pluggin, on a HP Touch desktop computer running Windows Vista. The data is graphically presented through a graphical Web interface which is built using the RDM Embedded microHTTP Web servers running on each computer board and Microsoft?s IIS servers on the netbook and Touch computer.
The demo will be running at Embedded Systems Conference in Boston, MA at the Birdstep Technology booth #415 on Tuesday, September 22, 11:30am ? 7:00pm and Wednesday, September 23, 11:30am ? 5:00pm.
