POWER RANKINGS

FEB 1 ? FEB 7

1.) Yoda, Grammatically Incorrect Master - Though it is completely and entirely unconfirmed speculation and rumor, the pop culture landscape was all a?fire this week with the official ?indication? from Walt Disney CEO Bob Iger that standalone, Star Wars spin-off films are in the works. The usual suspects of cool? Han Solo and Boba Fett? will be getting their (film) due, but the week actually started with the word that the Jedi Master of Jedi Masters, Yoda, could also be getting his own film. With over 900 years to choose from, the possibilities of a Yoda film is intriguing? and surprisingly unsuspected by Star Wars fanatics. Judged him by his size did you?

?Star Wars: Episode 13: Yoda?s Dagobah House Warming Party.?

2.) Football, Fun Violence - It was hard to find any real big Hollywood power players to rank this week because everyone was still focused on the Super Bowl, the advertisements, and ?Power Grid? conspiracy. If only movie studios could get Football?s numbers?

?What were it?s opening weekend numbers??

3.) The Illuminati, Power Behind the Power - And speaking of Super Bowl 47 (you try typing the roman numerals without peaking?) Beyonce put on quite a show? and allegedly flashed a secret Illuminati hand signal while doing so. This, of course, was immediately denied by Beyonce, her people, and The Illuminati. Which shows that they truly are in power!

?Now if it was a Stonecutter?s symbol I?d believe it.?

4.) Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone, The New Brangelina - They met years ago while training and performing at the Groundlings. She was your ex-girlfriend?s favorite character on Gilmore Girls. Then she scored big in Bridemaids. And they both scored with a sandwich in the credits. Now the happily married couple have three movie projects in development through their On the day production company. You name me another marriage this productive in Hollywood right now?

?And they?re probably happier than Brad and Angie too??

5.) Justice League Spec Script Writers, Hopeful Dreamers - Word is that Warner Bros? Justice League project is in trouble. (Shocking) The story is a mess. The characters are a jumble. And it looks like the powers that be might be trying to bring in new writers. Ssshhh! Do you hear that? That?s the sound of thousands of keyboards working overtime at your local coffee shop as screenwriter after screenwriter pecks away at their take on their favorite superhero story. It?s your time, screenwriting nerds!

?Aaaaaahhhh, but then what do we do with Wonder Woman in the second act??

Ken Napzok is going to be spending Valentine?s Day writing next week rankings. He?s OK with that. Follow him on Twitter.
